Gloria Garcia

Southeastern PA Organizer

Gloria Garcia was born and raised in Philadelphia. Her family hails from Puerto Rico. Gloria’s past work experience includes working in City Council of Philadelphia for 10 years for Councilwoman Jannie L. Blackwell. She has helped organize events, campaigns for elections, and worked on constituent services. After leaving City Council, she thought she would try another profession, where she worked for a Physical Therapy Doctor for a year. Although she loved the experience, she felt as though she wasn’t doing much for the community. Gloria joined the staff of Democracia USA in March of 2009 as the Southeastern PA Organizer, where she will be hands on with the community in organizing for the many efforts that DUSA is working on.
