Field Organizer

Nicole Montoya was born and raised as a Chicana in Southern Colorado. As a single mother of a beautiful little girl named Maya she was struggling to make ends meet. Despite working in customer service and sales for seven years the opportunity to advance was not presented. Receiving a reference from a friend regarding job openings at Democracia U.S.A she decided to give it a shot, subsequently, a new path was presenting itself. Upon completing Voter Registration orientation she started registering voters in Pueblo the next day. The impact that one individual could make on the community was evident and clear. Nicole embarked upon this new road and became team captain and subsequently the Get out the Vote (GOTV) Coordinator encouraging Latinos to vote before the November 4, 2008 Presidential Election. Today Nicole is the Field Organizer for Democracia U.S.A. based in the Pueblo, CO Headquarters.
