D-USA Educates Hispanic Voters on Healthcare and Social Security Issues

As part of the Divided We Fail campaign, Democracia USA with AARP recently announced that it has collected pledges from more than five thousand Hispanic Florida voters promising to support candidates who speak about healthcare and financial security issues. In partnership with AARP, D-USA spearheaded Latino outreach for the campaign in South and Central Florida. Through Divided We Fail, D-USA educated the Hispanic electorate about the need for affordable, quality healthcare and long-term financial security for all Americans.

“It’s crucial that Hispanic voters consider health care and Social Security when it comes time to cast their ballots, and it’s crucial that they have the information they need to evaluate what candidates propose,” said Rafael Collazo, National Deputy Director of Democracia USA. “Candidates should talk health and financial security in all communities, especially Latino ones.”

Democracia USA is the only Latino organization partnering in the Divded We Fail campaign in Florida. Democracia USA and AARP share in the concern for the welfare of Latino and other elderly Americans. You can learn more about the campaign at the AARP’s Divided We Fail website:
